LETTER OF INTENT
In order to fulfill the course requirements for Data-Processing Project,
course number 107-170-003, we, the project team of Kim Mehrdorf, Tony
Malovrh, and Roger Bochek created Rune-Mania. Our desire was to create
an entertaining and exciting Shareware product.
We felt that the development of a software product would give
us valuable experience in:
1) Defining user requirements.
2) Designing the program to fulfill these requirements.
3) Creating supporting documentation for the program
4) Development of operating manuals, which include
users manual, technical manual, and systems manual.
We the Rune-Maniacs hope you have as much fun playing Rune-Mania as we
had in creating it.

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to RUNE-MANIA. RUNE-MANIA is a game of chance based upon the
ancient Celtic Runes. We hope this will be a positive and fun experience.
In playing RUNE-MANIA you will be casting runes to get either a 1-Rune,
3-Rune or 6-RUNE reading. Each will include a short explanation, but in all
cases try to have a question in mind when you make your selection. Relax,
keep an open mind, and take time to read each screen and think about it.
Pressing the spacebar will take you to the next screen or return you to the
Main Menu. Entering (7) will allow you to exit the program.
Celtic Runes have been used as a form of divination for centuries.

PROBLEMS / SOLUTIONS
1) We compiled the Source Code using the BC /O option and linked
it into an executable file in order to allow the User to run
the Game(Rune Mania!) without having to have QuickBasic 4.0
or QuickBasic 4.5.
2) Having reached the Menu, user needs to select a number from 1
through 7, press that number key, then press Enter. Pressing
any letter or number keys repeatedly without pressing Enter
will cause undesirable results. Fixed by using input$ (4/8).
(14)
OVERVIEW
RUNEMANIAC! was designed to provide entertainment
as well as educate the user in the art of runecasting.
While the game is by no means a thorough explanation
of the meaning of each rune or the various methods of
using the runes, we feel that it serves as an easy
introduction to the subject. For those whose curiosity
has been piqued, there is a Bibliography of suggested
reading. The game is played by selecting a number from
the menu and following the instructions on the screen.
